How to redeem SHiFT Codes in Borderlands 4
SHiFT codes allow you to get free loot, including Golden Keys for opening the special chest, unique cosmetic items, and even powerful gear. There are two primary methods to redeem these codes: directly within the game or through the official SHiFT website.
Redeem in-game
This is the most direct method if you are already playing the game.
- Launch Borderlands 4. You can redeem codes either from the main menu before you load your character or by pausing the game at any time.
- Access the SHiFT Menu. From the main menu or the pause screen, navigate to the Social menu and then select the SHiFT option.
- On PC: Press the Esc key to pause.
- On PlayStation/Xbox: Press the Options or Menu button.
- Navigate to the Code Redemption Tab. Inside the SHiFT interface, you will see other voices like Friends, Support, and "Rewards." Select the Rewards tab.
- Enter the 25-character SHiFT code into the provided field and submit it.
Redeem from the website
In case you prefer redeeming from the website, here is what to do:
- Visit the Official SHiFT Website
- Sign in and link your account as explained in the official guide: Log in with your SHiFT account credentials. If this is your first time, you'll need to create an account. It is crucial that you link your SHiFT account to the gaming platform you use for Borderlands 4 (e.g., PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, or Epic Games Store). You can manage this in the "Gaming Platforms" section of your account settings.
- Go to the Rewards Tab and redeem your code

Using the redeemed items
Weapons, shields, and cosmetic items are typically delivered to your in-game Mailbox, which you can access from the Social menu. Be sure to claim them from your mail to add them to your inventory.
Golden Keys are a form of currency. To check your total, open your character's inventory. Your Golden Key count is displayed in the bottom-right corner of the "Backpack" screen, alongside your other currencies.
